Everything people ask before they book. If yours isn't here, WhatsApp me — I answer fastest during the day.
Before you ask.
Can I come in the van with my luggage?
No — never. Kerb2Kerb carries luggage and goods only, not people. You travel however suits you (train, car, coach, taxi) and your things are waiting for you. It's what keeps the prices low and the insurance straightforward: this is a goods van with courier cover, not a taxi.
Is my luggage insured?
Yes — goods in transit cover up to £25,000 and £5 million public liability, with Somerset Bridge Insurance and Novus Insurance. Everything is photographed at collection and at delivery.
How does booking work?
You send a request — through the price tool, the form or WhatsApp — with a postcode, where it's going, a date and a time window. I check the diary and confirm by WhatsApp, or offer the nearest time I can do. Nothing is booked until you have that confirmation message. One van, one driver, so requests are taken in the order they arrive.
What if my sailing or flight time changes?
Message me as soon as you know. I move the collection with it where the diary allows and confirm the new time by WhatsApp. If I can't make the new time, I'll tell you straight away and there's nothing to pay.
Is there a charge for waiting?
The first 15 minutes are free, then it's £10 per 15 minutes. It only really comes up at terminals and airports — I'll say so up front, never spring it.
How do I pay?
Bank payment or cash when the job's done. No deposit, no card fees. There's no VAT either — I'm a sole trader under the threshold, so the price you see is the price you pay.
What if I need to cancel?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Inside 24 hours it's a £15 callout. If I cancel on you, there's nothing to pay.
What happens if something gets damaged?
Every bag and box is photographed at collection and again at delivery, so there's a record of condition at both ends. If something is damaged in between, tell me within 24 hours with photos and the claim goes through the goods-in-transit insurance.
Where do you cover?
Southampton and about 20 miles around it — Winchester, Eastleigh, Fareham, Portsmouth, the New Forest, Bournemouth. Heathrow and Gatwick are covered at fixed prices from anywhere in that area. Further out, WhatsApp me and I'll price it.
What fits in the van?
It's a 2019 Citroën Dispatch: 15+ large suitcases, or a studio/one-bed's boxes in one load. A small sofa, a double mattress, a fridge-freezer or a bike all go in. Not pianos or anything two people couldn't carry between them. Not sure? Send a photo.
Do you help carry?
Yes — to the room, not the kerb, stairs included. For a sofa, a wardrobe or a fridge I need a second pair of hands at each end.
Is the price on the website the final price?
The price tool works from postcode districts, so it's accurate to within a mile or two. The number I confirm by WhatsApp is the price you pay — agreed before the job, and nothing gets added on the day except waiting time, which you'll know about in advance.
